Southeast Fly Shop Tour: ALL Episodes Live on YouTube

Fly shops, the heartbeat of local fishing communities, span the nation from coast to coast. This year we loaded up the Broncos, and headed south to explore what the southeast is all about.

Last year, our adventure took us on a memorable road trip through the Rockies, with events hosted in places like Fort Collins, Jackson Hole, Bozeman, Boise, and Orem (Salt Lake City). Building on the resounding success of season one, we shifted gears and visited Nashville, Asheville, Atlanta, Charleston, and Marathon, Florida.

Check out the episodes below!

Episode 1. Tennessee

Embarking on a journey east bound and down from our headquarters in Basalt, Colorado, our team meticulously planned a route to the southeast. Setting out on the road, we b-lined it for Tennessee to meet up with our film crew and begin shooting the second season. Join us on this southern excursion as we illuminate the pivotal role of fly shops and conservation efforts to restore the surrounding areas of the places we visited.

As season two kicked off with Episode One in Tennessee, we had the opportunity to venture onto the water with Fly South OutfittersLittle River Outfitters, and Trophy Guides. It was not only an enjoyable experience exploring their fly shops, but also a chance to raise funds for Music City Trout Unlimited

Episode 2: North Carolina

From Tennessee now to North Carolina! This episode is dedicated to the memory of Frank Smith, the founder of Hunter Banks, and Henry Williamson, Brookings Fly Fishing legend. This episode we make our way through the mountains of western North Carolina, where we stop in Asheville and Cashiers!!

Episode 3: Georgia

Alan Jackson knew the core watershed of Georgia deserved a song and we knew It deserved a whole YouTube episode. Meandering from the headwaters in North Georgia where we meet with Unicoi Outfitters down to its tailwater section through the heart of metro Atlanta where we meet up with Alpharetta Outfitters and The Fish Hawk. You won’t want to miss this episode!

Episode 4: South Carolina

In the realm where tails elegantly wave, some recognize South Carolina as an anglers paradise, and among its many attractions, redfish stand out as a significant draw but a fraction of what Charleston has to offer. On this episode we set sail with the Chittum Skiff and fished with Clemson TU Costa 5 Rivers students. From there we hit the road and stopped by Rivers and Glen Trading Co. and Dodson Fishing Company and followed up with a great event raising money for Charleston Waterkeeper!

Part 1: Florida

Starting from Tennessee and journeying through North Carolina, Georgia, and reaching Episode 4 in South Carolina, we made the collective decision to push our adventure further southward to explore what Florida has in store for us. While many associate Florida with the illustrious silver king in fly fishing, the trio of tarpon, bonefish, and permit merely scratch the surface of the diverse angling opportunities this state presents.

Part 2: Florida

Venturing all through the south highlighting fly shops in Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida, episode six wraps up our month long tour! Three fly shops, The Angling Company239 Flies, an event to raise money at Seven Mile Fly Shop for Captains For Clean Water, check out the season finale exclusively on YouTube. Flylords Father’s Day Fly Fishing Gift Guide

Fishing Tips: Finding Trout in Moving Water

Nelson Oxley
I’m originally from Tabernash, Colorado, and my passion for fishing started early, influenced by my grandfather, who managed Nelson’s Fly Shop. As soon as I got my driver’s license, I began guiding, and now I’m in my seventh year of doing so. I am a Account Manager at Flylords. I work with various brands in the industry to grow their digital marketing presence and run campaigns to increase their product and brand visibility. One thing I love about Flylords is the passion that goes into our work; everyone is deeply involved in what we strive to create. My favorite types of fishing are casting dry flies from a drift boat and stalking flats species from a skiff!
