Sight Fishing a Big Fall Brown

A note from @chrisboundens

“Jordan Vanderkelen (@jrdn87) and I spotted this brown from way up on the bank on a bright, clear day. We watched him actively cruise around his feeding circle, sipping the surface and chasing other fish out.

I snuck down the bank and crossed the river below him while Jordan kept a close eye on him. With some accurate direction from Jordan up on the bank, we were able to land a cast perfectly in front of him and let it drift straight into his lane.

Jordan gave me a heads-up when he was about to hit, and when I saw that snout break the surface on my fly, I knew it was on. The rest is history. Nothing like sight fishing big browns on big foam flies in the fall!”
