One Shot at a Golden Dorado on the Itirizama River

“It’s an extremely difficult river to navigate, so the particular section we spent the day in had not been fished since last year’s season.

Navigating upstream requires some serious hiking and swimming skills, so unfortunately, they don’t get to take the average clients to these kinds of zones.

Despite this, Golden Dorado can still be extremely sensitive. If you approach the pool in the wrong way or get too close to the fish, they’ll often spook, and the opportunity to show them a fly is gone.

This particular pool was a prime example and required keeping your distance and making a long cast. After getting a hookup and playing the fish for a brief moment, it ended up falling off, and that was the pool spoiled.”
