Canada Will Be Open to Tourism August 9 – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

During a recent call with provincial and territorial leadership across Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Canada “could start allowing fully vaccinated US citizens and permanent residents on non-essential travel into the country by mid-August” according to an article on CNN.com.

This is fantastic news for US and foreign anglers who have been waiting with bated breath to visit Canada for the legendary fishing the country is known for.

Currently, the Friendly Border remains closed to US tourists as “tourism, leisure and casual visits are all forbidden. Some exceptions exist for family members, foreign workers and international students.”

According to the same CNN article, details of the reopening plan will be released sometime this week.

What Canadian fishery are you planning on returning to first?
