Last year, following the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene to Asheville and the surrounding areas, the fly fishing community came together to put on the first RISE Fly Fishing Festival. In partnership with local fly shops and fly fishing brands, the festival brought anglers together, celebrated the resiliency of the French Broad River community, and raised money for ongoing recovery and restoration efforts. Now, after a successful first year, RISE Fly Fishing Festival is back, taking place on Saturday, September 26th at Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins in Asheville, NC.
The festival is a free, family-friendly event open to the public. Over the course of the day, attendees will get the chance to participate in a number of activities, including casting and tying competitions, raffles, kid-geared programming, and gear pop-ups from many of our favorite fly fishing brands. Among those putting on the event and attending are Davidson River Outfitters, Hunter Banks, and Headwaters Outfitters, as well as Outdoor Business Alliance – Go With a Guide, Blue Ridge Boatworks, Temple Fork Outfitters (TFO), Northwest River Supplies (NRS), Rambler Angler & Blade Co., Clayborn & Co., and Trout Unlimited.
