Functional Art at its finest. This Yeti Panga featuring two Florida native species (the Mottled Duck and Redfish) was created by another Florida native, Travis Luther.

As an artist and outdoorsmen, Travis’s art bridges the gaps between wildlife, gear and functionality. Initially, art and fishing were separate for Travis, “growing up I probably put more miles on a bicycle going fishing than I ever will put on a vehicle.”

As those passions began to intertwine, they ignited ideas for a new medium and Travis soon traded in his canvases for backpacks and soft coolers. “There was a lot of research that went into finding out how I could not only make a paint stick to these bags but also how to make them durable, waterproof and able to last more than one day out on the water.” With bags featuring everything from Wood Ducks to Permit, its got us thinking about how many days are left until a proper cast and blast!

Words from FISKA Account Manager, Brenden Gallagher with Travis Luther. Be sure to check out Travis’ art by heading to his website travislutherart.com and following him on Instagram @travislutherart to see what ideas he’s putting together on YETI bags!

Nelson Oxley
I’m originally from Tabernash, Colorado, and my passion for fishing started early, influenced by my grandfather, who managed Nelson’s Fly Shop. As soon as I got my driver’s license, I began guiding, and now I’m in my seventh year of doing so. I am a Account Manager at Flylords. I work with various brands in the industry to grow their digital marketing presence and run campaigns to increase their product and brand visibility. One thing I love about Flylords is the passion that goes into our work; everyone is deeply involved in what we strive to create. My favorite types of fishing are casting dry flies from a drift boat and stalking flats species from a skiff!
