A Note from Nick (@sandbar_flies):
“I wanted to tie a match the hatch style squid fly with wings that imitate a real squid. I named this fly the Love Machine because when put in front of a fish they can’t resist.
This particular trip i was able to test it out on redfish from the skiff and by foot in the surf. It doesn’t take much stripping of the fly line to get the wings moving. With a constant under arm strip the fly tracks in a straight line with wings fluttering but if stripped normal it will dart back and forth.
The reaction from the fish has been absolutely wild! The fly is now being used in the Florida Keys for tarpon and the north east for stripers.“

Really cool…how can we tie one, or get our own?
