Fly Shop Tour Season 3: All Episodes Now LIVE!

Fly Shop Tour is our tentpole series in which we explore the country through fly shops and the angling communities surrounding them. This year’s season takes place in the Northeast—an area rich with fly fishing history. We explored the incredible fly shops, communities, and fisheries of Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania. Seven states, thousands of miles, and a few fish along the way. So follow along on Fly Shop Tour season 3 through these five episodes to find out what the iconic Northeast fisheries have to offer.

Episode 1: Maine and Vermont

In the first episode, join host Joseph Berney as he heads to Maine and Vermont, exploring the far north and what it has to offer. Along the way, he visits some historic fly shops and meets the incredible people who keep these shops and the fly fishing culture alive. But what episode would be complete without a little fishing? Follow along as Joseph explores small mountain streams to the vast Atlantic Ocean in search of the Northeast’s native fish species. These are the fly shops, stories, and characters that make up Fly Shop Tour.

Episode 2: Vermont and Massachusetts

In episode two, host Nelson Oxley takes off where Joseph left off in episode 1. Nelson explores what Vermont has to offer in terms of warmwater fisheries before heading south to Massachusetts. These two states are rich with fly fishing history, both fresh and saltwater. In the Bay State, the team sets its sights on striped bass, a fish synonymous with the Northeast. Follow along with episode 2 of Fly Shop Tour, exploring the shops, people, and fisheries of Vermont and Massachusetts.

Episode 3: Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York City

In episode 3, host and founder of Flylords, Jared Zissu, heads to the Big Apple, New York City, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Follow along as the Flylords crew kicks things off in Rhode Island, with Saltwater Edge fishing for striped bass before continuing to Compleat Angler in Connecticut. From there, Jared hits the road to New York City, the city that never sleeps, in search of the most unique fly shop we’ve visited, Urban Angler. But what trip to the city is complete without checking out the local scenery and Central Park, this time with carp on the mind. Tune in to episode 3 to see what the Empire State has in store.

Episode 4: Pennsylvania and New York

In episode 4, Wills Donaldson joins the team as host for two iconic fisheries in Pennsylvania. But first, he has to make a pit stop to see an old friend and fly fishing legend, Joe Humphreys. From there, Wills fishes the fabled rivers of State College before making his way to the Pennsylvania and New York Border. Here, he fishes the Northeast’s premier tailwater—the West Branch of the Delaware River. Follow along in episode 4 as we explore the shops, people, and rich history of Pennsylvania and New York.

Episode 5: New York

In the final episode of season 3, host Wills Donaldson leaves Pennsylvania and heads to New York. Here, Wills has his sights set on two legendary fisheries. The tributaries of the Upper Delaware and the Salmon River. These two iconic fisheries are rich with history, as are the shops found along them. Join Wills as he learns the intricacies of tailwater dry fly fishing before trying his luck at the ultimate Northeast freshwater fish, a chrome steelhead.
