Catching the World’s Largest Brown Trout in Argentina’s Patagonia: Chasing 30

In fly fishing, everyone has goals, whether it’s a place you want to visit or a species you want to catch. Our team got to talking, and as fishing conversations usually do, we quickly turned to bucketlist fish. The recurring theme was catching a true 30-inch brown trout, and not just any brown trout; it had to be a wild one. When the opportunity arose to accomplish this feat, we headed to Argentina, where browns can grow to impressive sizes, and wild trout are plentiful. On the banks of the Limay River, we grabbed our streamer rods and hucked meat flies for the next four days. Stay tuned, and follow along on our quest for a true 30-inch wild brown trout.
