Sean Jansen

I was born and raised in Southern California, yet my first casts of the fly were in Southwest Montana at age 11. Fast forward 25 years, and I now call the area home. I work as both a wilderness guide within Yellowstone National Park and a freelance writer and photographer. I take clients into the park and educate them on the natural history of the area. As a writer, I cover stories primarily of conservation, currently in the process of publishing two books. The crew at FlyLords has always been like family since the first pitch I sent their way almost half a decade ago. They let me tackle stories and projects of my desire, and that has allowed me to become passionate about what I write and what I target. I salivate over the remote areas of the world, chasing those very seasonal and hard-to-get-to species that also coincide with areas that need the most protection, all of which I love to write about.
